Brittany Reid has over twelve years of experience in public health, leading communications and strategic outreach for federal agencies, nonprofits, and hospital systems. Her work included national and community-level initiatives with organizations such as the CDC, HRSA, NIH, ASPR, and the American Cancer Society. As a communications strategist and program lead, Brittany is skilled at developing evidence-based campaigns, leading stakeholder engagement, and translating complex research into clear, actionable messaging that supports prevention and treatment goals.
She previously supported the NIH HEAL (Helping to End Addiction Long-term) Initiative®, where she led communications projects to educate the public about HEAL’s mission to combine science and community to address poorly treated pain, opioid misuse, addiction, and overdose. She played a key role in developing the Patient and Community Engagement Framework, which included resources and tip sheets to help researchers involve patients and community members at every stage of the research process. Brittany also led activities for Capitol Hill NIH briefings, including content updates, invitations, PowerPoint presentations, and related materials. In addition, she wrote social media content for the NIH NINDS and NIH NIDA channels to raise awareness of HEAL-funded research and encourage broader public engagement.
